Breaktime-Mealtime™
In partnership with the Bellevue School District, Bellevue LifeSpring provides free food assistance during school breaks for Bellevue students enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program or experiencing economic hardship.
Children receive grocery store food vouchers for breakfast and lunch items to substitute for meals they would normally get at school. With the grocery store voucher, the family can purchase fresh produce, dairy, bread, meat, or any food relevant to their cultural and dietary needs during the school break.
Breaktime-Mealtime™ applications are included in the Bellevue School District back-to-school packet at the beginning of the school year. They are also available year-round at the school’s main office or Family Connections Center. Completed applications can be returned to the school office or Family Connections Center.
Families can pick up the grocery food vouchers at their youngest child’s school before each school break, during office hours. Distribution usually occurs the week prior to Winter, Mid-Winter, Spring, and Summer school breaks.
