There’s a reason that the Seattle area is known as the “home of the 12s.” On December 2, 2013, Seattle Seahawks fans broke the record for loudest roar at a sports stadium after thunderous cheers registered 137.6 dbA at Centurylink Field.
Since then, the Seattle Seahawks have continued into the post season five consecutive years and made it to the Super Bowl twice (so far) – due in part to the support they receive from their devoted fans. Head Coach Pete Carroll says, “The 12s have an unparalleled impact on game days.”
As we head into the divisional playoff game, it’s important to remember that our true strength comes from our community. Their courage, commitment and confidence in our home team is what drives their success. We’re proud to be part of a community that supports each other – through victory AND adversity, a community that’s loud, proud and passionate.

In the past few years, we’ve had the good fortune to partner with former Seahawks and 12s, committed to making a difference for kids in Bellevue.
Former Seahawks Safety Lawyer Milloy was the Honorary Chair of our 2015 wine tasting and gala. He also spoke at our Step Up to the Plate Benefit Luncheon in March 2016.
Former Seahawks Defensive End/Linebacker Joe Tafoya was one of 12 event co-chairs for Uncork the Night: A Celebration of Wine and Giving in October 2016.
We’ve also been able to auction off some incredible Seahawks items, from signed jerseys to game tickets.
This holiday season, one of the families we serve had the incredible opportunity to meet Michael Bennett and listen to him read “The Night Before Christmas,” thanks to the Tateuchi Center.
Seahawks fans cheer because they believe in their team’s ability to achieve. We can’t all be on the field, but we can make ourselves heard from the sidelines. Imagine the impact of your voice for a child in need.
The Spirit of 12 here in Bellevue is about more than just football, it’s the sense that we’re on the same team – a community, coming together in support of one common goal: creating a brighter future for Bellevue’s children.
