The Quilters

A community service project started by Bellevue Christian Church in 1955 has become a weekly gift of caring for multiple generations of the Bellevue community.

We affectionately call them “The Quilters.”

This group of women has been meeting weekly to stitch quilts which they then donate to Bellevue LifeSpring. Our programs team delivers these quilts to families in need during home visits.

Many families have received a beautiful, handmade blanket that conveys the warmth of a giving community. In 2013, one speaker at our Step Up to the Plate Benefit Luncheon shared the quilt she received decades ago and still cherished today.

The Quilters gathered one last time in 2015 to put the last stitches in their final quilt. Each woman was presented with a Life Member pin in honor of their support over the past 60 years.
