Meet the Staff: Lucy Garcia

We are thrilled to introduce you to our new Human Services team member, Lucy Garcia. Lucy will be working directly with Bellevue families to help get them the assistance they need.

Lucy moved to the area five years ago from a small town in Mexico. She was driven to study social and human services because of her passion for mental health and helping others. When not at Bellevue LifeSpring, you can find Lucy spending time outdoors, reading, writing, and spending time with her loved ones.

Read along as Lucy shares what inspires her and what she hopes to achieve in her new role.

What inspired you to do this kind of work, and why is the Bellevue LifeSpring mission meaningful to you?

I am very excited about the opportunity to be a part of Bellevue LifeSpring because I believe deeply in the power of helping others. I feel it is our responsibility to create a kinder and more caring world for all children, and this organization is doing important work to make this a reality. It means a lot to me to be able to contribute and work toward a more loving and inclusive community where everyone has the resources they need to thrive. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful effort.

What do you hope to help achieve in your new role?

In my new role, my goal is to help spread compassion in any way I can. I want to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and appreciated. Whether it’s through providing helpful information, offering support and encouragement, or simply being there to listen, I hope to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

What does community mean to you?

To me, community means having people around us who care, listen, and understand. It’s a place where we can be ourselves without fear of judgment or rejection. A community is where individuals can connect, support one another, and collaborate to create positive change.

If you could choose one superpower, what would you choose?

If I had the chance to choose a superpower, I would love to have the ability to teleport. As someone who lives far away from my family, I would love to be able to spend more quality time with my loved ones, no matter where they are in the world. Also, I love traveling and believe there’s no better teacher than experiencing new cultures and meeting people from different walks of life.

Thanks for sharing, Lucy. We are so glad Lucy is here and part of our team!
