Important Announcement About the March 17 Luncheon

Dear Bellevue LifeSpring Supporters,

Given the public health situation regarding the coronavirus, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Step Up to the Plate Benefit Luncheon scheduled for Tuesday, March 17. Over the past 109 years, Bellevue LifeSpring’s priority has been the well-being of the community. Today, that value is more important than ever.

We anticipate an increased need for our services as this situation develops. If schools are closed, children will not have access to breakfast and lunch at school. Parents who are unable to work in order to care for their children will have difficulty paying rent due to lost wages. These families will be at risk of homelessness.

Here is a message from our event’s featured speaker, Dr. Ivan Duran, Bellevue School District Superintendent:

“We rely on Bellevue LifeSpring to be the first line of defense for families in crises. In addition to their ambitious goal of closing the graduation gap for students experiencing poverty, Bellevue LifeSpring has always been flexible and responsive to emerging needs. It is important to support Bellevue LifeSpring to make the success of all Bellevue students a reality.”

Although we will not be together at the luncheon, we are together in our hearts and resolve to demonstrate our commitment to our Bellevue community.

Our luncheon goal was to raise $400,000. So far, we have $150,000 committed from generous supporters. Now, more than ever, I am asking for your support to close this gap. Please contribute what you had planned on March 17 and consider stretching to give even more so that we can help our neighbors in need.

You can donate via credit card online or by calling 425-451-1175, or send checks to: Bellevue LifeSpring, 302 Bellevue Square, Bellevue, WA 98004.

Thank you!

With gratitude,

Jennifer Fischer
Executive Director, Bellevue LifeSpring
