Join us in giving a warm welcome to Lily, our new Events and Volunteer Coordinator! Lily is here to help ensure our events and volunteer opportunities run smoothly, with a strong emphasis on building meaningful connections with Bellevue community members.
A graduate of Washington State University with a degree in Human Development (Go Cougs!), Lily recently relocated back to Washington State from her hometown in Southern California.
“I have a background in human services and experience in healthcare. I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant during the COVID-19 pandemic and was a lead for a COVID vaccination site in a vulnerable, high-risk community,” shared Lily. “In high school, I was heavily involved in organizing and coordinating community service events with organizations such as the American Red Cross and The Arc.”
Read along as Lily shares what she hopes to achieve in her new role.
Why is the Bellevue LifeSpring mission meaningful to you?
The Bellevue LifeSpring mission is meaningful to me because it aligns with both my personal and professional values of helping others and creating interpersonal relationships. I like that Bellevue LifeSpring’s approach to addressing these problems is to provide resources and assistance so families can build stability and self-sufficiency.
What do you hope to help achieve in your new role?
I hope to build connections with individuals and organizations who want to help those in need by facilitating meaningful volunteer opportunities and coordinating events in a respectful way that maintains the dignity of everyone.
What does community mean to you?
Community, to me, means connecting with a group of people who will support you, stand up for you, celebrate you, and challenge you to be better, all in ways that you will feel that you are secure and belong.
What’s your favorite hobby outside of work?
When I am not working, you can find me playing soccer at the nearest park with a net, walking by the lake/beach, reading a book, spending time with friends, or re-watching New Girl for the seventh time!
Thank you, Lily, for sharing, and welcome to the team!
