Summer break is winding down, and the excitement of a new school year is building for Bellevue School District students who are gearing up for their first day on Tuesday, September 3!
The back-to-school season brings a mix of anticipation and challenges, especially for families facing financial hardships. However, a successful start to the school year is crucial for every child’s educational journey and overall well-being. At Bellevue LifeSpring, we are committed to supporting a smooth start to the new school year for Bellevue students from low-income households.

Breaktime-Mealtime™
Thanks to our community’s support, we provided 3,142 students from 1,765 households with Breaktime-Mealtime grocery store food vouchers to provide nutrition support for the month of August. That is a total of 13,000 vouchers! Each student received four vouchers to supplement the government’s SUNBucks food support program. This extra support from our Breaktime-Mealtime program will help ensure that Bellevue students get the nutrition they need to fuel their minds and bodies for the start of school.
Clothes-4-Kids™
For Bellevue children from low-income households, the excitement of back-to-school time is often overshadowed by financial constraints. When a family is living paycheck to paycheck or struggling to make rent, new back-to-school clothing is often not an option.
Each August, our Clothes-4-Kids program provides Bellevue families with the opportunity to select new back-to-school clothing for their children from Amazon.com or a local merchant. This helps ensure students return to school feeling confident and self-assured. This year, thanks to Amazon and our community’s support, 2,000 students will receive new clothing that suits their unique styles, sizes, and needs, fostering a sense of identity and autonomy.
