Powered by Bellevue LifeSpring and the Bellevue School District
We are thrilled to announce that in partnership with the Bellevue School District, we are launching our first in-person family resource center at Highland Middle School.
The new Bellevue Family Hub will be a warm and inviting place where students and their families are welcome to visit and access the support they need. Families will receive personal and individual guidance from Bellevue LifeSpring Family Advocate Volunteers, Bellevue LifeSpring Human Services staff, and Bellevue School District staff.
Beginning August 22, Bellevue students and their families can visit “The Hub” to access the following resources:
Back-to-School Clothing Support — Bellevue LifeSpring is providing 1,332 students who qualify for the free and reduced-price lunch program with $100 gift cards to Old Navy to shop for new clothing. Thanks to our partnership with Amazon, additional students can visit The Hub and receive support ordering clothing on the Amazon website and have items shipped to their home. With our Clothes-4-Kids™ program, students can return to school confident wearing new clothing that fits their style and ready to learn.
Rent Support — Students and families experiencing housing insecurity can now come directly to the Bellevue Family Hub to make appointments for emergency rent support. Since the pandemic began, we have prevented homelessness for over 1,605 children from 814 families.
Emergency Right Now Needs — In partnership with Amazon, students and families visit The Hub to access a wide range of support. The Right Now Needs fund covers expenses not typically provided by nonprofits but essential to help support a student’s mental well-being and success in the classroom. Thanks to Right Now Needs partnership with Amazon, we’ve helped parents pay utility bills — keeping the heat on and the water running — medical bills, an ambulance bill for a child, glasses for a student, and provided essential educational materials for teachers to use in the classroom.
School Support Services — Families can drop in at The Hub and receive guidance navigating the Bellevue School District’s website. Family Advocate Volunteers and staff will help complete applications like the school district’s Family Resource and Free/Reduced-Price Meals applications.
When our office and pantry closed during the pandemic, we provided services to families over the phone and through the Bellevue School District Family Connection Centers. We are excited to have once again an avenue to reach families in person. Through The Hub, Bellevue LifeSpring will continue our work to foster stability and self-sufficiency for Bellevue children from low-income households and their families.
