EDUCATION PROGRAMS
In today's world you need more than a high school diploma to make it in life. Bellevue LifeSpring’s Educational Grants programs are based on financial need and provide students the opportunity for higher learning so they can achieve stability and self-sufficiency, wherever the future takes them.
EDUCATIONAL GRANTS
NOTE: We are currently not accepting Educational Grant applications.
Bellevue LifeSpring provides need-based grants for the first year of higher education following high school graduation. Students who receive a first-year grant are eligible to apply for a second and third year. Applications are available at the counseling office of each high school in the Bellevue School District, beginning each January.
Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Scholarships
To be eligible for a first-year scholarship, a student must be a senior at a Bellevue public high school (or must be a home-school student residing within the Bellevue School District) and must enroll at a publicly supported college or university, or vocational/technical school, in the state of Washington during the same calendar year following graduation.
Kemper Freeman, Sr. Scholarship
Awarded to a third-year student attending a public university or vocational school who graduated from a Bellevue public high school and was awarded a scholarship the two previous years. This scholarship was established in honor of Kemper Freeman, Sr., who generously donated retail space in Bellevue Square, allowing the Bellevue LifeSpring Thrift Shop to pay the rent of one dollar per year since opening in 1947.

PARTNERSHIP FOR INDEPENDENCE
NOTE: We are currently not accepting Partnership applications.
For many, barriers such as raising children, needing to work full time, or re-entering school after years away make secondary education difficult. Partnership for Independence is a unique program that supports adults returning to school to pursue a certificate or degree at a publicly supported college or vocational/technical school. This program is designed to help low-income adults with education and living expenses so they can attain the training and education they need for successful long-term employment and self-sufficiency.
Depending on the needs of the “Partner,” Bellevue LifeSpring may provide financial assistance for tuition and books, living expenses such as rent, utilities, food or daycare), and other expenses associated with attaining their education.
Once in the program, participants are eligible for eight active school quarters or until they have obtained their certificate or degree, whichever comes first, provided they continue to meet the responsibilities and guidelines of the program. Participants partner with Bellevue LifeSpring by completing community service hours for the organization.
Participants must live within the geographical boundaries of the Bellevue School District and be enrolled in a public college, technical, or vocational school. Applicants need not be attending at the time of application, but do need to be enrolled at the time assistance is provided.
Applicants must be able to show responsible and realistic educational goals, motivation and good character, as well as financial need.
